Quick Start
VBoss Admin Guide 9
3. Select the existing Video Playlist you want this player to use.
4. From the
Player Template tab, select the template that you would like to use.
5. On the
Player Styles tab, you can modify the font and color scheme for this player, if
applicable.
6. On the
Player Content tab, insert ad images and logos, as well as enable or disable the
optional features available for this player template.
7. You have the option within each individual Video Player to associate a Dedicated Live
Source. This Dedicated Live Source will override the default live stream for your channel.
The Dedicated Live Source can be either a Live video stream on the Internet, or a Local
video stream, for viewing by users within your local network.
8. On the
Player Syndication tab, you can choose to allow a syndication link on this player
so that viewers can request to syndicate your content to their own domain.
9. Browse to your viewing site to test the live video. If this is the Player set as
Active, click
on the Portal URL listed near the top of the VBoss application window and you will see
your live stream. If this player is not Active, just click the
Player Preview icon to preview
your content.
10. If you want this player to display all Live streaming content within your channel, enable
the
Immediate Live checkbox. Otherwise, only Scheduled Events that are added to the
Video Playlist will be displayed within a Video Player.
11. Set up syndication. To add this Video Player into a page on your website, click the
Syndication icon within the Video Players for the Player that you want to syndicate.
Enter in your information, as well as the domain name for the host site, and submit the
form.
Step 6. Manage Syndication
1. In the Content Manager, go to Syndication Requests. Use this page to approve or reject
requests to syndicate your player, as well as to view the syndication codes.
2. Note that changing the Player Template in a syndicated Video Player will require re-
syndication of that player to all hosting websites.
3. Go to
Syndication Manager to update or view each syndicated player.
Step 7. Add a Scheduled Event
1. To schedule a live event, go to Events Scheduling on the Content Manager menu.
2. Enter a Title and Description as well as Start and End time and date.
3. Select how long before your event time you would like to go On-Air as well as Event
Category, Event Notes and Pay Rate, if applicable
4. Select whether you would like to record this event and at what bit rates, as well as
whether you want to auto-FTP the video to your VBoss asset library when recording is
done. You can also choose to make this a recurring event. Note that your Live Streaming
quality bit rates are independent from your Recording quality bit rates, such that you can
stream live at a low bit rate, while recording your content at higher or multiple bit rates
for higher quality VOD.
5. Finally, you have the option to notify user groups and/or individual users about this
upcoming event.
6. Please note that when you change any information in an event schedule, you must click
the
Submit button on the Event Recurrence tab for the schedule to update correctly.
